Framing
Greetings! “Framing.” During the course of last night’s edition of “UFOs: A Dispassionate Examination,” a listener, a first time listener, made a couple of outstanding comments, one of which has stayed fresh in my mind all day today. The comment in question made the case that we as a community “frame” ourselves as a direct result of our conduct and behavior, meaning that as a result of not taking the UFO topic seriously and professionally, we as a community are not taken seriously, and are in fact looked down on and laughed at by the general public. I wholeheartedly agree with the comment! If the UFO problem was addressed in a more professional and mature manner, then highly qualified and educated individuals with specific training and skill sets might become more interested in examining the UFO phenomenon and it’s many aspects. As it stands now, that rarely happens, if at all, and that is to the detriment of the entire UFO community. We cannot afford losing out on any opportunity to have qualified and professional individuals examine the UFO problem; they might bring a fresh and informed perspective to the effort. Thank you for your interest.
