Ouija Boards Need Love Too!

I know right off the bat I’m probably going to take some heat for this one, but I’m going to come out and say it.  I think there’s nothing wrong with using a Ouija Board.  Captain Shirk is going to kill me for this, and probably others, ha ha ha, but I’m actually serious about this.  To me, the Ouija Board, which has been around since 1890, is just another tool of communication with the after life.  Just like any other ‘tool’ in the ‘toolbox’, it can reap great rewards or negativity if not used properly.  So why the hate for a board with letters, numbers and a planchette?
The Ouija Bard, and other communication devices have been around for centuries.  Between the 1600’s and 20th century, there were many psychics, mediums and prophets who walked around communicating with the deceased, helping bring closure and answers from those who have crossed over.  It wasn’t until the early 20th century, when talking boards started garnering the negative attention from religious sects all over the world.  How dare anyone reach out to the other side?  From then on, the board was banished as an evil marker of the occult.  Many churches and religions said it was and is a tool of Satan, and is a violation of the Ten Commandments.  Really?  That’s taking it a little far, isn’t it?  These same people who were crucifying the talking board and psychic/mediums as well, are the same people preaching about an inanimate God, the son of God who performed magical miracles on people, and pray and believe in a Holy Ghost.  I’m not slamming religion or the religious.  In fact, I’m a big believer in God.  What I am talking about is the continued hypocrisy of what’s acceptable and what’s not, depending on some preacher’s interpretation of the Holy Bible.

We also know that there’s good and bad in everything.  When it comes to psychics, I personally have dealt with a ‘dark’ psychic who nearly ruined my ghost tour, after coming on tour and trying to cross spirits over to the other side without their permission.  There are great intuitives out there as well, who’ve personally helped me on my journey.  We see people reading tarot cards, tea leaves, using pendulums, spirit boxes.  These are all tools to communicate.  So why do we lambaste the Ouija Board.  The reality is, we shouldn’t.  It’s a form of communication that could possibly work.  If not, Parker Brothers has been teaching kids as young as eight years old that it’s okay to summon demons.

Granted, with any sort of communication, we don’t know whom we’re really chatting to on the other side.  That’s the real danger, not the Ouija Board.  We don’t know if it’s our late grandfather, or something dark and spooky copying the likeness to get to us.  We don’t know enough about what’s on the other side to fully know.  That’s the truth of the matter.  Anyone tells you different, then they’re probably someone you should stay away from.  Are there people out there who are more advanced?  Sure there are.  Karen A. Dahlman, Ouija Board expert, comes to mind.  But truth is, when you’re dealing with spirits on another realm, not even people of Karen’s ilk really know who they’re chatting with.

Trust your intuition.  You will know whether or not you’re dealing with something good or bad.  Feel the vibe and trust your instincts.  If it doesn’t feel right, you know darn well that it’s time to say goodbye, whether on a spirit board or using another communication device.  You don’t have to like the Ouija Board.  You don’t have to own one.  I can tell you I don’t own one.  Would I use one?  Absolutely I would.  Why take the chance?  Because I believe that the board is only as evil as you make it.  I protect myself spiritually all the time.  I also trust my instincts.  You should too!
