The Messages Are There, But Are We Listening?

The Messages Are Out There, But Are We Listening?
Back in 1990, the Seattle rock group Queensryche released a song called ‘Anybody Listening’.  The final stanza of that song reads, “Is there anybody listening?  Is there anyone that sees what’s going on?”  These lines have been permeating through my head recently because it’s so telling as to what we’ve seen over the last few years in the world of Ufology.  Like we’ve never seen before, we’ve seen front line people come out and tell us information we’ve been waiting to hear from credible people, with credible information.  But you know what we’ve done with it?  Nothing.  The field of researchers and enthusiasts have literally poo-poo’ed almost everything they’ve been told, deeming it un-credible disinformation to spin a narrative that doesn’t invoke proper thought or information.
Why has the field of Ufology done this to itself?  The field continues to eat itself from within.  Call it frustration or whatever you wish to call it, but the information as the stories from everyone from government insiders to fighter pilots has come out, the distain from many in UFO-land has been tedious and untrusting.  Take for instance, recently former head of the CIA, John O. Brennan.  Brennan recently was interviewed on a podcast with host Tyler Cowen.  When asked about UFOs, Brennan on the record stated, “I’ve seen some of those videos from Navy pilots, and I must tell you that they are quite eyebrow-raising when you look at them. You try to ensure that you have as much data as possible in terms of visuals, and also different types of maybe technical collections of sensors that you have at the time.  Also, I believe, it’s important to reach out into other environments and find out, were there any type of weather phenomena at that time that might have, in fact, created the appearance of the phenomenon that you’re looking at? Were there some things that were happening on the ground, or other types of phenomena that could help explain what seems to be quite a mystery as far as what is there? I think an important thing for analysts to do is not to go into this type of challenge either discounting certain types of possibilities or believing in advance that it is likely X, Y, or Z. You really have to approach it with an open mind, but get as much data as possible and get as much expertise as possible brought to bear.”

When you have the former head of the CIA stating, “But I think some of the phenomena we’re going to be seeing continues to be unexplained and might, in fact, be some type of phenomenon that is the result of something that we don’t yet understand and that could involve some type of activity that some might say constitutes a different form of life;”  we need to pay attention.  The information is seeping out from the not so tight government taps.  In talking to people like Richard Dolan and Grant Cameron, both have stated numerous times there are a plethora of people who want this story out.  But as those many a people want this story to go public, there is an equal faction of those who feel mankind isn’t ready for this story, and the secrets need to be kept.

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen the former head of Israel’s Space Security, 87-year old Haim Eshed talk about what many in the UFO field deem as ‘tacky and unstable” from the senior citizen whose resume and world stature has been highly noted for decades.  Many believe senility and old age have caught up with Mr. Eshed, because at his age no one should be talking about a ‘Galactic Federation’ and this alleged Federation’s reasoning as to why aliens haven’t presented themselves to the people of earth publicly.  Eshed was quoted as saying, “The Unidentified Flying Objects have asked not to publish that they are here, humanity is not ready yet,” which he told to the Israeli media outlet, Yediot Aharonot.  Eshed is a well respected professor in Israel and a retired military general.  According to this man, “They have been waiting until today for humanity to develop and reach a stage where we will understand, in general, what space and spaceships are.”

UFO Twitter and social media outlets went crazy, talking about how nuts this ‘old man’ is for alleging such a farce of information.  The real question is, as far fetched as Eshed’s comments sound, how do we know?  How do we know he isn’t right?  How do we know this isn’t happening or there isn’t some sort of ‘Galactic Federation’ understanding that humans down play well with each other and other species it gets around.  One only has to look at our own planet to see how we’ve treated living organisms, animals and mammals on earth to see that we’re not a very nice species.  Richard Dolan stated on Spaced Out Radio’s ‘Science Bob & Friends’, “Most of the reactions, especially in the media, are like ‘this man’s lost it’.  He had a great career but he’s lost his marbles. And I think it’s fair to say that anyone who’s in the UFO community reading this is like, ‘yep’!  He sounds just like a lot in the UFO field and how he got his information, I don’t know.”  As unbelievable as Eshed’s comments sound, Dolan states as much as we want to discount his words, how can we? “It doesn’t sound crazy.  I mean, these are unprovable assertions.  He talked about underground bases in Mars and an agreement between the U.S. Government and aliens.  Where is he getting it?  Is he getting it from intelligence sources? Or is he getting it from a combination of intelligence people and what he’s just researched on his own? He’s obviously into this like a lot of people in the intelligence community are into the UFO subject, and they become very active students of it.”  What has Dolan pondering about Eshed is this, “He doesn’t seem like he’s crazy like the quotes we have heard in the news.  It doesn’t strike me that he’s lost his mind.”

Earlier this month we heard ‘Late Show’ host Stephen Colbert ask former President, Barak Obama, the UFO and aliens question, to which Obama replied, “Certainly asked about it.” The former President went on to say when pressed, ” I can’t tell you, sorry.” Colbert replied, “Alright, I’ll take that as a ‘yes’, because if there were none you’d say there was none!” “You just played your hand. I thought you were a poker player. You just 100% showed your river card.” “Feel free to think that,” Obama replied. “It used to be that UFOs and Roswell were the biggest conspiracy, and now that seems so tame!”  What does this mean?  The problem is when a former President goes on a late night talk show, there’s no pressing for more evidence.  What did Obama mean by this?

Let’s go back to the highly ignored Lara Logan interview with Robert Bigelow in May of 2017 on ’60 Minutes’.  This is an interview just a few weeks back, Skinwalker Ranch owner Brandon Fugal tweeted, “The somewhat uncomfortable and mind blowing truth”, while tagging Logan’s interview video with Bigelow.  In that interview, Logan asked the billionaire, “Do you believe in aliens?” To which the Nevada businessman replied, “I am absolutely convinced, that’s all there is to it.” Logan then asked, “Do you also believe that UFOs have come to earth?”  Bigelow gave an amazing answer, “There has been and is an existing presence, an ET presence. And I’ve spent millions and millions. I’ve probably spent more as an individual than anybody in the United States has ever spent on this subject.” Logan followed up with, “Do you imagine that in our space travels that we will encounter other forms of intelligent life?”  Bigelow retorted passionately, “You don’t have to go anywhere?” This seemed to catch Logan off guard a bit. “You can find it here?” To which Bigelow stated, “Yeah … It’s just like under people’s noses.”  This is some of the most real reality television ever reported.  Yet a news channel like ’60-minutes’ never followed up or released the full, unedited version of the tape.  Now I have reached out to Lara Logan for a comment and an interview to which she has yet to reply.

We’ve seen Commander David Fravor talk about his ‘tic tac’ incident with the USS Nimitz in 2004.  We’ve seen crew members from Kevin Day to Sean Cahill, PJ Hughes, Gary Voorhis and others from the USS Princeton and talk publicly about what they saw on radar.  We’ve seen Luis Elizondo, who could very well be the first ever member of the infamous ‘Men In Black’ come forward and discuss UFO knowledge and their roles within.   This doesn’t demean the great work long time researchers have made over the years.  Their contributions need to be accredited with helping bring out some of these people to the forefront and the public.  Especially those who are experiencers.

But when we take a deep look at ufology, do we really want to believe anything anymore?  Researchers aren’t trusting any filmed videos unless they are their own.  We can thank CGI, drones, airplanes, helicopters, SpaceX, Elon Musk and other feathered phenomenon for losing faith in video footage.  Experiential stories, at times, seem to be going way far out there.  Like ‘Galactic Federation’ far out there.  Have the stories and information become too real to sound way out there from human reality?  The voracious attitude of many in UFO world and on Twitter has soured many on the subject while seeking the truth.  The reality is there are more truths than answers out there right now.  Solving the puzzle is the difficult part.  But the narrowmindedness of the community for not wanting to take the evidence in front of them for what its worth is egregious at best.  So are we really listening to what’s being put out there?  We’re listening, but not hearing the messages we want to hear.  It’s probably the best way to put it.

Do we really want the answers?  We already believe there is something going on?  But as divided as the UFO community can be at times, do we really want the truth to the phenomenon that’s going on.  Truth is, we don’t know the truth.  We don’t know if we’re dealing with aliens, or some sort of ultraterrestrial creatures that the great author of the ‘Secret Cypher of the UFOnauts’, Alan T. Greenfield, has written about.  We we can garner from all of this is the strength of the Military Industrial Complex will continue to hide what they can to get the upper hand on any adversaries, if they can wrangle this technology in.  But the game of ‘Catch Me If You Can’ will continue with who’s ever driving the ship!  Until that day comes, the bickering and disbelief of the UFO community will continue. Why?  Because we don’t want to listen anymore
