Stunning Firefall Returns To Yosemite National Park. The spectacular sight occurs almost every year around mid-February when the snowpack on top of El Capitan begins to melt and flows down the cliffside. When the falls are hit by the sun at just the right time, they reflect colors of fire; red, orange, and pink.
