The skies over Arizona recently have been filled with flying objects other than just airlines. Recordings of two incidents have been released by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Flying at over 30,000 feet, two separate airline pilots reported observing an unidentified flying object over their planes. One pilot, flying a Learjet operated by Phoenix Air, and a second pilot flying for American Airlines, saw the UFO, heading in the opposite direction of their flights.
On February 24, 2018, the recording of a conversation with the Albuquerque Center air traffic control indicates the Phoenix Air pilot first sighted the object at around 3:30 pm. The pilot asked if anyone was above them approximately 30 seconds earlier. Air traffic control responded there was not.
FAA in Albuquerque then alerted American Airlines Flight 1095 to keep an eye out for an object in the sky as they flew toward San Diego. In less than a minute, Flight 1095’s pilot radioed that his plane had just been passed by the UFO.
The FAA in Albuquerque said, at this point it doesn’t know what the object was. They stated there is a close working relationship with other agencies that handle additional aircraft, both civilian and military, including management of high-altitude weather balloons. As more information on the nature of the unidentified flying object becomes available, it will be released to the public.
